This reverts commit b998695344.
Seems like this is not necessary anymore. Possibly because of
8ff3238027 ("openssl: Prevent OpenSSL from using posix_memalign() if
LD is enabled").
This ensures that packets on sun are processed on a particular CPU and
not randomly on one, which causes expected SAs not to get created or
other weird things.
This new option allows to disable leak detective to reduce the runtime
during development. Either only for the command line (swanctl, pki etc.)
or optionally also for the daemon(s).
Disabling leak detective only for the CLI tools already brings a
considerable reduction in runtime (from 48m to 38m on my dev host) as
there are many such calls in the post-test stage. Any leaks in those
tools are also a lot less of an issue than leaks in the daemon. So using
this during development should be fine as long as a full test run is done
regularly (in particular before releases). Disabling leak detective
completely further reduces the runtime (to 30m on my dev host). But that
should probably only be used for functional regression tests after
verifying new code didn't introduce new leaks.
This also fixes the service script which is used for charon-tkm since
16fcdb460a ("charon-tkm: Don't use starter/stroke with charon-tkm anymore").
Debian trixie doesn't provide a 99-sysctl.conf symlink in that directory
anymore. The memory settings are also useful there as the default of
one changed and overbooking helps when forking a process with large
memory footprint (e.g. the IKE daemon).
Some scenarios disable route installation and if they are executed before
any scenarios that don't, there won't be a rule for table 220 and we get
"FIB table does not exist" errors.
In particular the swanctl calls all take a while and this allows doing
them in parallel if multiple hosts are involved. This reduces the runtime
of each test by 1-3 seconds.
OpenSSH defaults have changed and scp stopped to work with newer versions.
There are 2 options to fix it, either use -O (legacy scp protocol)
with scp, or enable the sftp subsystem in the SSH server config.
This fix uses the second variant.

The wrapper called the command twice for any unit but "strongswan" and
it didn't return the correct exit code. This was noticed when an
if-updown script tried to check if systemd-resolved is active and always
succeeded, which caused failing attempts to configure it.
But now that the return code is correct, trying to enable bind9 won't
fail silently anymore if the unit doesn't exist (similar on older systems
for named), so this is adapted.
With Debian bookworm, the PQC KE sntrup761x25519-sha512 is negotiated, by
default. This increases the overhead significantly, in particular, the
size of the KE message, which wouldn't get through IPsec tunnels without
MSS clamping.
While the alias is available after enabling the unit, we don't
actually do that in our testing environment (adding a symlink manually
would work too, then again, why not just use the proper name?).
This installs tmux and its two dependencies libevent-2.0-5 and libutempter0.
For the tnc/tnccs-20-ev-pt-tls test scenario older, apparently replaced
versions of these packages are entered to the collector.db database, so that
dummy SWID tags for these packages can be requested via SWIMA.
RC4, which was previously used for performance reasons, is not supported
anymore with newer versions of SSH (stretch still supports it, but it
requires explicit configuration on the guests when they act as clients
too - the version in Ubuntu 18.04 apparently doesn't support it anymore
at all).
AES-GCM should actually be faster (at least for larger amounts of data and
in particular with hardware acceleration).
We could make the same change for charon (actually setting it for charon
in strongswan.conf.testing would work for charon-systemd too), however,
there are dozens of test cases that currently set charondebug in
ipsec.conf.
When charon is started via service command LEAK_DETECTIVE_LOG is not set
because the command strips the environment. Since we only want the
variable to be set during the automated test runs we can't just set it
in /etc/default/charon. Instead, we do so in this wrapper when charon is
started and remove the variable again when it is stopped.
This reverts commit dee01d019b.
Thanks to 505c318701 ("leak-detective: Try to properly free
allocations after deinitialization") this is not required anymore.
The main issue is that the ldap and curl plugins, or rather the libraries
they use, initialize GnuTLS (curl, strangely, even when it is, by its own
account, linked against OpenSSL). Some of these allocations are only freed
once the libraries are unloaded. This means that the leak detective causes
invalid frees when swanctl is terminated and libraries are unloaded after the
leak detective is already deinitialized.
We will use this to set some defaults (e.g. timeouts to make testing
negative tests quicker). We don't want these settings to show up in the
configs of the actual scenarios though.
This allows accessing the guests with `virsh console <name>`.
Using a serial console would also be possible but our kernel configs
have no serial drivers enabled, CONFIG_VIRTIO_CONSOLE is enabled though.
So to avoid having to recompile the kernels let's do it this way, only
requires rebuilding the guest images.
